Having finished The Fault in Our Stars and the trailer for the movie, I can honestly say I am quite excited for the screen adaption. Often, the thing that draws us to a book is the way the author weaves words together. Yet, so many times , it's those words that never make it to the silver screen. When watching page to screen adaptations, I find myself celebrating over any appearances of actual lines from the novel. This being said, the trailer for The Fault in Our Stars is littered with John Green's words--something I hope is an indicator of how the film itself will be. Additionally, the trailer seems to stay true to Hazel's wit and outlook on life and Shailene Woodley (Hazel's actress) appears to have the role down. Lastly, though Ansel Elgort is not who I would have imagined as Augustus, John Green appears to have great faith in him (from what I have seen in interviews) and I have high hopes that this movie will turn out well.
