Blogging is not only driven by an intense passion for something, but it's also a serious hobby. I can easily say that all Twilight bloggers will attest to that. The blogs that I encountered while browsing the internet were each very original and personal which I found really satisfying. Each blog had its own layout and links which really spoke to the bloggers perspective, personality, and tastes. I think each blog almost had its own language! Bloggers used Twilight lingo like it was their second language which I found amusing but normal to "twi-hard" fans. Facts and knowledge of every character are also incorporated into this language as if everyone should know what they are talking about. Luckily, some of the blogs included pictures which helped me follow their trains of thought.
I enjoyed reading one particular blog called "Letters to Twilight" often abbreviated as LTT. It is written by two girls who call themselves "Moon," short for "the moon is down," and "UC," abbreviated for "Unintended Choice." The girls met through Twitter as they live across the country from one another: one from the west, one from the east. However, as stated in their biography, "One thing bridges the gap of ALL that divides us and that is our love for all things Twilight!" They are "twenty something" years old and started blogging in December of 2008. They created their own blog because the ones they found on the internet didn't seem to satisfy their fanaticism; thus they decided to "show their own unique take on the saga," and write a letter to Twilight everyday. The characterize themselves unlike other fan sites or blogs because these are simply their thoughts, their voices. They talk about how "if [they] were obsessed [with the saga] than there had to other “normal” girls (and guys) like [them] out there." The word "normal" stood out to me as it seems to be meaningless in a situation like this. Is any obsession normal?
